We recently launched our new reading program, Ready 2 Read. This program was born out of our vision to radically and positively impact the reading and comprehension levels of the children of West Dallas. Saturday mornings are full of excitement as volunteers and children read to one another, with the hopes of exposing our children to various children's authors and increasing their love and appetite for reading.
Saturdays 10:30-12:30PM, Sept. 26 - Nov. 14, 2009; Jan. 16 - Mar. 6, 2010; Apr. 24 - May 22, 2010
Volunteers are needed to read with children and assist with phonetic training & reading comprehension.
To aid our Ready 2 Read program we continue offering one-on-one assistance with reading and comprehension to our students, pre-kindergarten through 4th grade, Monday - Thursday. Students are able to have extra help with reading homework as well as testing & tutoring on skills needed to advance based on their grade level and testing results.
