Our out of school time programs are designed to provide educational support to students through homework assistance and tutoring, as well as provide character development and spiritual growth through Biblical principles and teaching Christian values. Our program provides opportunities for students’ personal growth and to develop meaningful relationships with peers and supportive, caring adults.
Summer Day Camp was established to provide a safe haven for children in West Dallas in the summer months.

This year's Summer of Investment will be filled with a variety of groups and teams joining Voice of Hope to make our summer "In house camp" one that the children will never forget. Field trips to places like the West Irving Aquatic, Mid Cities Skate Land, Dallas Aquarium will be complemented by educational field trips to the Perot Museum, Dallas Museum of Art and Library to name a few.

During our eight weeks of fun and excitement, the children will be exposed to lessons that include a variety of investment categories

These lessons will be reinforced through guest speakers that will offer presentations on site, field trips to financial institutions and tours of community colleges that will emphasize their particular areas of interest. In conjunction with our investment theme students will have opportunities to enjoy themselves through partnering organizations such as the Highland Park Belles and Highland Park Fighting Scots, First Presbyterian of Tulsa, and Champ Camps with Parkland.

Daily activities consist of:

  • Character Development and Spiritual growth
  • Mini “camps” consisting of Vacation Bible School, fitness, sports education (including basketball and lacrosse) and creative opportunities (including arts and crafts, music and dance) – all provided by volunteer groups
  • Academically enriching activities to inspire learning and alleviate the summer learning loss many low-income children experience
  • Culturally enriching field trips
  • Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack
  • Strong character modeling from a caring and supportive staff

Financial Support

Summer Day Camp cannot happen without adequate resources. We have a target funding goal of $200,000 to raise by the time the program begins. If you believe in the mission of Voice of Hope and what we are trying to accomplish in the lives of our students, please consider a gift at one of the following levels:

$125 - Sponsor one week of programming for one child

$500 - Sponsor one month of programming for one child

$1,000 - Sponsor an entire summer of programming for one child

Or you may prayerfully give a gift that is in line with your budget and the Lord's leading.

It is through the combined contributions of a host of caring donors that this program is made possible. We thank you for any and every gift you give in support of our kids this summer!

Volunteer Support

We are still looking for people who can give "sweat equity" to our Summer Day Camp program. It takes a lot of work to put on a daily summer camp experience for eight weeks and our summer volunteer crew is an integral part of this effort. For more information about volunteering, please visit our Volunteer page.

Prayer Support

Last but not least, we need people who are willing to commit to pray for this program and ministry. We have made and will make every effort to ensure a successful program, but it is ultimately God who changes hearts and directs the course of children's lives. Please pray for the following:

  • Children will commit their lives to Christ this summer.
  • Children will continue to grow academically, socially, and spiritually.
  • Our staff and volunteers will effectively model the gospel and life of Jesus in everything we do.
  • God will fully resource the vision of the Summer Day Camp program.
