We are excited for Summmer Day Camp 2012. Together with your help we have been able to give the children and youth of West Dallas an amazing summer year after year. We are needing your support and prayers once again to reach our summer camp goal!

Voice of Hope has offered Summer Day Camp for 26 years. Our Summer Day Camp provides a safe haven for children during the summer months while sustaining educational achievement in a recreational atmosphere (basically, we provide fun, creative ways to learn). Our Biblically based camp provides a stimulating environment where students can: improve their in reading, writing and math; gain technological skills; explore areas of science, arts and community involvement through field trips; and of course have fun because kids, summer and fun belong together!

What We Need

Financial Support

Summer Day Camp cannot happen without adequate resources. We have a target funding goal of $200,000 to raise by the time the program begins. You can see our progress towards that goal via the thermometer on the right side of this page. If you believe in the mission of Voice of Hope and what we are trying to accomplish in the lives of our students, please consider a gift at the following levels:

$100 - Sponsor one week of programming for one child

$400 - Sponsor one month of programming for one child

$800 - Sponsor an entire summer of programming for one child

Or you may prayerfully give a gift that is in line with your budget and the Lord's leading.

Volunteer Support

We are still looking for people who can give "sweat equity" to our Summer Day Camp program. It takes a lot of work to put on a daily summer camp experience for eight weeks, and our summer volunteer crew are an integral part of this effort. Please consider volunteering in one of the following roles:

Classroom Assistant - Helps assist a classroom instructor in the daily activities of a class-size group of kids

Field Trip Chaperone - We need people who can help monitor and lead children on field trips

Special Activity Leader - Have a special talent or skill that you want to teach to children? Consider teaching and leading an elective class, craft, or other activity for our kids to learn new skills!

Mini-Camp Sponsor - Every summer our kids have opportunities to participate in special week-or-two long "Mini-Camps" that explore a particular skill or activity in depth. Past examples have included Chess Camp, Vacation Bible School, Dance Camp, Sports Camps, etc. Most of these camps have been lead by groups of volunteers. The opportunity for a child to participate in an intensive introduction to a particular skill or activity can change the course of a life forever!

Food Service Assistant - Help work in the kitchen preparing and serving meals to students

Facilities Assistant - Help make our facility as attractive and inviting as possible for our students, families, and other guests

General Program Assistant - Do you like participating in in all sorts of areas, with a different challenge each time? Then work as a General Programs Assistant - you may assist in a class, you may attend a field trip, you might help lead a special activity! General Programs Assistants are available to fill in wherever necessary to make the program run as smoothly as possible.

As you can see, there are a variety of opportunities to plug in. No matter your availability, whether one-time, monthly, weekly, or daily, we can certainly use your help, and you will certainly make a difference!

Prayer Support

Last but not least, we need people who are willing to commit to pray for this program and ministry. We have made and will make every effort to ensure a succesful program, but it is ultimately God who changes hearts and directs the course of children's lives. Please pray:

That children will commit their lives to Christ this summer

That children will continue to grow academically, socially, and spiritually

That our staff and volunteers would effectively model the gospel and life of Jesus in everything we do

That God would fully resource the vision of the Summer Day Camp program
